Rising from the East

Tong Vfang Xien Qi (東方神起) — which roughly translates to "Gods rising from the East" in English — is made up of five members who originally came from their homeland South Korea and since their debut in 2004, they have held concerts promoting their music in East Asian countries such as Japan, China, Malaysia and Thailand. They are also known as Dong Bang Shin Gi (동방신기), abbreviated as either "DBSG" or "DBSK" in Korea, Tohoshinki "THSK" (トウホウシンキ) in Japan and Tong Vfang Xien Qi "TVXQ" (東方神起) in China. The acronym "TVXQ" is officially used for their promotions, advertisements and products because it uses Chinese characters that are understood in China, Japan and Korea. The members are well known for their singing, dancing, a cappella and acting abilities.
